Normal schedule will be resumed shortly

Every year I work on a charity event for Surrey Services for Seniors, The Main Line Antiques Show. It takes all year planning this event but the actual week of the show it is all I focus on. I try to set up my blogs ahead and schedule them for release but it does not always work out. Last year we raised over $130,000, this year we are still waiting for some final bills so I don't know the actual number as yet.

We have 33 or more dealers from all over the East Coast and Mid West who attend the show and about 1500-2000 people who attend over the weekend. We have a couple of lectures and some different events for new collectors as well as dealer booth talks.

People are always amazed at how the show looks, so this year I created a video showing the intial build out over Wednesday night through set up by our dealers on Thursday afternoon and Friday to just moments before the official opening Friday evening November 14. Hope you enjoy, now it is back to my normal blogging schedule.

How long does this even last?  It's on going for more than 10 days?

Tammy Lankford it lasts one weekend, we start setting up Wednesday night, build throught the night, dealers arrive Thursday and doors open to a preview party Friday evening. Then open over the weekend and everything gets packed up Sunday evening and stands are taken down Sunday night and by Monday noon you would not know we had been there. I cannot explain how tiring this is to arrange and deal with all the issues that arise.

Nick and Trudy, This event sounds to be quite profitable for the Seniors.  Looks like the Main Line Antiques Show had some very nice pieces to sell.  I have to mention, my very first original painting came from an auction in Ardmore in 1972.

Nick & Trudy, good luck to you in raising even more this year than last.  Sounds like you're really making a difference for the charity. Best to you, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks Mike Dagner.

Bette Gotwald we have many good auction houses in our area where you can find good pieces for decorating your home. Yes, we had some wonderful pieces on display and some very good dealers exhibiting.
