It has been an antique sort of week

The Philadelphia Antiques & Arts Show

The Philadelphia Antiques & Arts Show is on this weekend, opening today down at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia. I went to the Opening night party last night and could see several pieces had sold straight away. My brother is exhibiting so if you go stop by and say hello. He sells ceramics of all periods including Piero Fornasetti and probably has the largest stock of this in the world, as well as sailor woolies which can be extremely decorative.

Interview

I also was interviewed being the manager and chair of The Main Line Antiques Show for an article on A Beginners Guide to Antiquing in Main Line Today a local magazine.

On top of this I helped a client get his offer accepted on a Tredyffrin Easttown condo for which we have been looking for a little while and this one suited his needs perfectly. Having just come on the market, there was lots of interest. Located in Chesterbrook, just recently ranked by Niche as the second best place to live in America right behind Carmel. A lot cheaper than Carmel, this condo is perfectly located for access to anywhere in the area, restaurants, coffee shops, shopping and out door activities. Chesterbrook also has plenty of walking trails and you can easily access Wilson Farm Park, site of the township firework display on July 4th.

We also heard that another buyer's new home received its Use and Occupancy Certificate from the Township and that their loan was clear to close for settlement next week. All good news.

Hannah Williams being at the Navy Yard I think it is easy to get to by car and you won't be affected by the draft.

It is hard to take my eye off that gorgeous shot of creek!  It sounds like a very busy week in Tredyffrin Easttown. Congrats on your pending sale and also coming in second as best place to live.  To come is second behind Carmel is really impressive.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® I found the rankings funny as they iuncluded several local locations which overlap, like Chesterbrook, Devon and Tredyffrin. But we will take it as Chesterbrook is a great location.

Nick,

What a great week you had, and a lovely shot of the creek.  Congratulations on your pending sale, and wishing you lots more

The little town of Summerland when we have our yoga studio is known for all the antiques,  Every so often we wonder in.  We have our yoga clothes and no wallet in evidence, a good thing for us...A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel the thing with antiques is you don't need lots, just one or two sprinkled around can give a really great design feel to a home. I am sure something Italian would fit in well for you in your home and bring back memories of your trips. It might even be a Vintage piece. In fact some of the Piero Fornasetti my bother carries might be a great addidition, he designed lots of clever pieces, trays, ceramics decorated with all sorts of things, music, fruits and vegetables, cocktail coasters...fornasetti tray

Lou Ludwig thank you, it has been a good week.

Sheila Anderson this is a great development with all sorts of homes from apartments, town homes and single family homes, it also has offices, a hotel, and a park as well as plenty of oen space built in. At its center was a shopping center which has undergone redevelopment with these new town homes being built around it.

My mom has always been a collector - she has a lot of antique hull & roseville pottery and I grew up on fire king and art decco dishes.  I like shopping antiques, though I don't buy any.  -Kasey

I enjoy antique shows and let my mind wander into the what was it like back then mentality. Sounds like a very busy week.

Debbie Reynolds that is one of the amazing things about owning antiques. To consider who owned it, what that item went through, what arguements, discussions, conversations went on over it.
