That email or call indicates trust

If you want to be Trusted

Be honest!

Steve Maraboli

Last night my email dinged. As I opened it to see who was writing to me I was pleasantly surprised to see the names of some clients from a couple of years ago.

I helped them purchase a home for their oldest son, who has some disabilities. They wanted to encourage him to live on his own, but close enough to them that if he needed help, they were readily available.

Sold signUnfortunately, it did not work out, and he felt overwhelmed. So after renting the house for a year they decided to resell the property. Luckily prices had risen and they were able to sell without having to lose money.

I really like this couple, they are not high earners but very down to earth. We had a wonderful relationship and it was a delight to get their email and made me realize their trust in me. Yes, they are in my sphere and get emails from me, but I was not aware they were actively looking to move right now. So their email was a surprise.

However, it encouraged me and made me grateful as I realized they trust me and they turned to me to help. Today we will go to look at a home they found on line and want to see. I am looking forward to helping them again and look forward to meeting up this afternoon.

This is what I love about this business. Nick and Trudy that is the best way to build a business - through trust and confidence!  It's exactly how we built our base over the years and it's always a joy to work with folks over and over.  Kudos to you two - well done! And enjoy your clients today!

Hi Nick... your post struck a real chord with me today. Yesterday I received a note via LinkedIn from a past seller (who had sold his home due to divorce a few years back) saying he was ready to buy again and asking if I could help. Today, I received a call from a couple in your end of the world whom I spoke with 10 years ago about selling their home in Charlotte, which has been rented for the past several years.

Nick and Trudy, looks like last night was the moment voices from the past re-appeared in many places including in my market and funny it was an email too... nothing beats clients who are loyal and years later re-appear announced:)Endre

Without trust and honesty, there is no strong foundation to build upon!  It's critical to professional relationships.

Clients who continue to trust you to help them are the best.  The relationship and trust is there and you already know one another and how the process works together.  It's great to get calls and emails from past clients.  Good luck with their home search! -Kasey
