I shut down tech for a week - ahhhhh!

Yes, I was silent for a week, shut down tech other than the most pressing necessary things I needed to respond to. Left the phone charging in the house during the day and was not constantly looking at it every five minutes. Watched the sun rise with a cup of coffee...

What else did I do? I read, played with my grand kids, built sand castles,

Heron at Heron Pointe

Egret with attitudewalked, enjoyed the birds on the beach,  a heron at heron pointe, and an egret with attitude as he marched off...saw some amazing plants

Lovely flower in Savannahenjoyed the Spanish Moss hanging from the trees

Spanish moss

biked along the beach, swam in the sea, played in the sea with my grand kids, cooked for everyone several evenings and basically had a great time.

Biking along the beach

And you know what, the world did not end, I got a new lead when I got home from my website, some one who wants to buy in Tredyffrin Easttown and wants a knowledgeable local Realtor who knows how to negotiate.

So back to work now, I am looking forward to it....

Nick, thinking that is exactly what I am doing mid-week, as I go to Alaska for vacation.  Sure looks like you enjoyed this time!

That sounds like the perfect week!  The beach is my happy place when I need to recharge.  Welcome back!

Joan Cox it was a perfect time, I had one settlement whilst I was away that had been a challenge but all went off smoothly.

Carol Williams getting away in nature anywhere I enjoy, used to like cities but not so much anymore.

My family used to take an annual vacation where there were no phones in the rooms, no internet and no cell service. The only way to stay connected was a payphone in the laundry area. It would take me about 2 days to go through the tech withdrawl, but when forced to, I did it. And it was pure heaven! People can and will wait for you!

Ron and Alexandra Seigel it was delightful

Colleen Fischesser that sounds like bliss, although I have to admit my phone was to hand so maybe I did not shut down as much as I could have.

I have to leave the country in order to have freedom from tech. Can't live without it.

I do that when i go on a cruise. It is time to plan one and want to get away for a real vacation.

Joe Pryor nowadays even when we travel we can be connected

Debbie Reynolds never been on a cruise and somehow they don't appeal, the mass of people puts me off, have heard of smaller boats such as windjammer and maybe that would appeal but so far no cruises.

Good for you, Nick...and lucky you - it looks like you had fabulous weather too! Sometimes we all forget the 'basics' and what life is REALLY all about - family and savoring the beauty that surrounds us!

You are braver than me.  I'm not sure if I can shut it off for an entire week.

Georgie Hunter R(S) 58089 it was a great time, so much so I did not feel that separated from my phone.

Gabe Sanders it was handy if needed, but I left it alone through the day. I don't think sand, sea water and phones mix very well.

Nick & Trudy Vandekar, 610-203-4543 - Your photographs are beautiful! Also, I love how you laid them out for this blog post. Your values shine throughout this reading. What a blessing it is to enjoy family, especially the grand-kids. You owe it to them your undivided time for you are their role model. Plus, you owe it to yourself to recharge in the most positive way. I can't think of any better way to do that, than by enjoying quality time with your loved ones. This one, is beautifully written and you wear the badge of fatherhood, spouse, and grandfather with humility and pride.

Congratulations on getting a lead too!

Patricia Feager it was a wonderful time, and I did not even feel lost without the phone during the time on the beach. We had a great time, and lots of fun. Thank you again for such kind comments.
