Main Line Homes Blog

You might think we live outdoors on the Main Line

There is plenty to do in our area, last week I wrote about watching movies under the stars, today get out and listen to a concert. Wilson Farm park in Tredyffrin has open air concerts set up for the summer. These are FREE to attend, and you can bring a friend, a blanket and some food and make a fun evening of it.

All concerts take place at Shire Pavilion at Wilson Farm Park in Chesterbrook and start at 7.00 pm. There is plenty of parking in the park.

June 20 - Tim Williams Band

June 27 - The Psychedelics

July 4 - Concert then Fireworks

July 11 - Chico's Vibe

July 18 - Southern Edge

July 25 - Half Past 7

Having just moved to Chesterbrook, I can stroll to Wilson Farm Park and am looking forward to enjoying some of these. Since moving many evenings I have been joining different groups for hikes in Valley Forge Park. I found these through and am astounded how many hiking groups there are of all levels. Last night I hiked with a new group, and we did over 2,000 feet of elevation over the evening over 6.7 miles. I slept wonderfully and it is a great way to meet people with similar interests, get out in nature and with this group get a hard workout in. There were times I thought everyone in the park could here me panting as we walked up yet another hill. Afterward we retired to a local tavern for a well deserved drink and a snack before going home and in my case retiring to bed for the night. Yuo can pretty much find a group any day of the week to hike with, some in the evenings and sometimes in the day.

Nick, outdoor concerts are so much fun. I've always preferred them vs. being inside for one. It's very impressive how much you're able to hike, I couldn't keep up but, do enjoy getting out for a walk with the dogs each day.

You paint a wonderful lifestyle in Chesterbrook, Nick. You must enjoy this new area and all that it offers - outdoor concerts under the stars is always a special way to hear music. But honestly, the hiking alone sounds great. And, it's nice way to meet new folks who share an interest.

Definitely, plenty to do in your area!  I like how interesting the names of bands are.
